Tiverton Dramatic Society

 

Welcome to Tiverton Dramatic Society

We are a friendly society comprising more than thirty fun-loving members, all with an interest in theatre, be it on stage or in a valuable backstage role.
We present two main productions per year, one in the spring and one in the autumn, showing to the public usually for four nights. These major productions are usually performed at the New Hall in Tiverton. In between these major productions we also produce one-act plays and murder mysteries which often tour to different venues.
We will always welcome new members, young or old, who wish to participate in our productions, either on or off stage. We meet on Monday and Thursday evenings at 7.30 pm at the Pannier Market in Tiverton. Please see our Contacts page if you wish to join us.

Annual General Meeting

The AGM of the Society will take place in the rehearsal room on Thursday 24th June at 7.30 pm. Anyone who wishes to stand for a position on the committee is invited to let Sheila Webber (Contacts page) know preferably in advance, or at the beginning of the meeting.

Try your hand at Shakespeare.....

It is intended to start touring an excerpt from A Midsummer night's Dream (probably ACT V) next Spring and maybe Summer. It is hoped that rehearsals can start in the Autumn. If you are interested then please e-mail the society (see contacts page) and you will be contacted as soon as possible. The director for this production will be Graham Sessions who recently had success with his direction of The Diary of Anne Frank.

The 70th Anniversary Dinner

You might not believe this but Tiverton Dramatic Society is 70 years old. In order to celebrate this occasion there will be an anniversary buffet dinner at the town hall, Tiverton on Saturday 17th July 2010.


Tickets for this event will be £12.50. The time for this event is 7.00 pm for 7.30 pm and, for security reasons, the doors will be locked at 7.30 pm so please arrive early.
